The Lower School drama program at Mount Vernon helps third through sixth grade students develop an appreciation for the art of theater. The emphasis is on various styles of theatrical performance and building confidence.

Students perform using skills in pantomime, improvisation, and characterization. Students also learn about the parts of the stage, stage positions and movements, vocal expression, and other dramatic techniques.

Lower School students have the opportunity to perform in several dramatic performances each year, including a spring musical.
