UPPER SCHOOL LIBRARY : Overview

The library on the Glenn Campus is located on the main level of the building and serves seventh through twelfth grades. It provides a place for individual study and research as well as for classes working on special projects.  The library’s primary purpose is to support, enrich, and extend the educational program of Mount Vernon Presbyterian School.  Students are encouraged to use the library’s resources in their academic pursuits and for recreational reading.

The Mount Vernon Presbyterian School collection includes more than 18,000 print and non-print materials.  A full-time librarian is available for help with information seeking skills, reading guidance, and ready reference assistance to individual students or entire classes.

In addition, the library offers a carefully selected collection of electronic databases for academic research.  These databases have been created by information professionals so that the content is more reliable and authoritative than a general web search.
